Greetings to our membership from your Board of Directors.
Members interested in serving on the Board of Directors should contact the Nominating Committee. You may do so by contacting Charlie Grant at chrl794@aol.com or Mike Heise at jp1916@ameritech.com and providing them with a brief outline of your qualifications. Be sure to provide your phone number and email address and the best time to contact you. The notice of the annual meeting being held on Friday, June 1, 2007 at the Hotel will be mailed out before April 15, 2007 and those accepted by the Nominating Committee will have their resume included in the Newsletter and their name will be included on the ballot. It is expected that we will have more names on the ballot than openings on the Board.
PLEASE NOTE! Over the past two years our membership has grown to the point we can no longer allow members to exchange their week for many of the high season weeks. A limited number of exchanges will be available in the following high season weeks (high season ranges from about December 15th to April 15th. Weeks 50, 1, 2, 3, and10 thru 15 will have a limited number for in-house exchange. All owners may exchange to low season weeks with no exchange charge. All exchanges are subject to availability and will be reserved on a first come first served basis. The triathelon week, usually week 16 or 17, will also not be available. Owners exchanging high season rooms will not have a charge for the exchange. Low season unit owners will pay an additional fee of $200.00, due at time of occupancy.
Owners wishing to reserve additional weeks may do so by paying the unit maintenance fee for low season weeks or the maintenance fee plus $200.00 for high season weeks. Keep in mind, you are paying the maintenance fee, thus it is nonrefundable and is due at the time you confirm the request.
We continue to update the units with new kitchens and have completed an additional ten units this past fall and expect to have all standard units in the main building completed by the fall of this year. We have also replaced the cabinets on the terrace and purchased a new hot water heater. When installed (it just arrived), it will give us a stand-by heater to eliminate hot water interruptions. This past spring/summer we cleaned and painted most rooms and will continue to do an annual maintenance of all rooms.
In December the Hotel resolved the Dock House issue and the building exterior has been repaired and painted, eliminating a long standing eyesore. Plans are underway to use the building for collecting ferry fares and beach chair rentals. Members will also notice we have purchased 100 new beach chairs. Much of the outdoor lighting has also been replaced, improving the evening appearance of the grounds.
Annual Meeting will be Friday, June 1, 2007 at the Hotel. Members wishing to attend the annual meeting will be able to reserve a room by paying the maintenance fee. June 1st is week 21. We have about thirty (30) rooms available each week (weeks 21 and 22) so if you plan to attend be sure to contact the front desk at 800 524-2035 to reserve your room. (Owners can reserve rooms by paying only the standard maintenance fee) We also have about twenty (20) rooms owned by members during each of those weeks. We urge all to attend, but if unable to do so, be sure to return your vote and proxy, to be mailed to you in early April. Members should also be aware that, subject to availability, you may do an in house exchange of your standard week if you have not already used it.
Included with this newsletter is a schedule of timeshare dates for the next several years.
